Goa chicken curry


cooking time : 20 minutes 

preparation time : 15 minutes 











ingredients :

chicken               1 /2 kg 

onion                    3 finely chopped 
ginger garlic paste       1 tsp
mustard seeds                 1/2 tsp
fenugreek seeds roasted    1/4 tsp
cumin seeds roasted           1/2 tsp
black pepper corn             1 tsp
dry red chilly roasted         6
cinnamon stick                  2
green cardamom             2
coriander powder              1 tbsp
turmeric powder                1 tsp
white vinegar                  4 tbsp
brown sugar                       1 tsp
oil                                  1/2 cup
salt to taste 






to garnish :

fresh coriander chopped          2 tbsp
green chillies sliced                  3 -4 
lemon slices                                1 
roasted cashew nut                    10 



method :
  • in a pan heat up oil add onion and fry till onion get nice golden color . remove onion a  mixture jar and add 1/4 cup of water and make paste . 

  • dry roast  1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds , 1/2 tsp cumin seeds , 6 dried red chillies , 1 cinnamon stick , and 2 green cardamom pods . dry roast all the ingredients separates then roughly crush them all together . and set aside .



frying chicken :


  • in a pan heat up oil add mustard seeds when mustard seeds star cracking down add ginger garlic paste and stir for a while . 
  • add 1 tbsp coriander powder , 1 tsp turmeric powder , salt and boneless chicken . stir them on medium flame till chicken get change the color . this will take about 3 to 4 minutes . remove chicken in a platter and set aside . 

to make gravy :


  • after removing chicken from pan add little more oil in the same pan and add prepared onion paste , prepared dry spice crush , and brown sugar mix well . 
  • add chicken pieces and 1/4 cup of water and mix well . 
  • cover and cook on slow flame for 5 to 8 minutes till gravy get thicken .
  • remove in a serving platter, and garnish it with fresh coriander , cashew nuts and lemon slices  and serve with rice , bread .
