how to make lobia chicken ( chicken with red kidney beans)

cooking time : 20 minutes
preparation time : 15 minutes
serve: 7



ingredients :

kidney beans               1 cup soaked in warn water over night 
onion                        2 large size finely chopped 
oil                           1 cup
mutton/ chicken             1/2 kg
ginger garlic paste           2  tbsp
red chily powder           1 tbsp
turmeric powder              1 tsp
garam masala powder       1 tsp
yogurt                          1/2 cup 
green chillies                 5 chopped 
lemon juice                  3 tbsp
fresh coriander / parsley         1/2 cup
salt to taste 


preparation :



  • in a mixing bowl take skin less chicken pieces add 1 tbsp garlic paste 1/2 tsp salt and 3 tbsp yogurt and mix well . set aside to marinate for 1 hours in fridge . 
  • in a pressure cooker take soaked red kidney beans add 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric with 1 cup of water and boil it .set aside . 
method :
  • heat oil in a pan add 2 finely chopped onion and sauté till it get nice golden color remove half of it in a platter and set aside . in another half add marinated chicken along with ginger paste and sauté till chicken changes the color . 
  • add red chilly powder , turmeric powder , left of yogurt , chopped green chillies , chopped tomato , garam masala powder , and boiled beans cover and cook on slow flame for 10 minutes  . ( 1/4 cup of water if required ).
  • after that saute for at-least 5 to 7 minutes till oil comes out . and chicken tender .
  • in the end add chopped fresh coriander  , lemon juice and 1 cup of water . cover and cook for 5 more minutes remove in a bowl and garnish with green coriander and left of fried onion . and serve with rice or with naan .
