achaari chana daal / spicy gram lentil


cooking time : 20 minutes preparation time : 10 minutes 











ingredients :

gram lentil  boil (chana daal )        1 cup 
oil                          1/2 cup
fenugreen seeds          few 
onion seeds                 1 tsp
fried onion                  1 cup
crush red chilly           1 tsp
garlic                                7 
chilly                             6
mint leaf                    1 tbsp
fennel seeds                    1 tsp
butter                             3 tbsp 
curry leaf                  6 
turmeric                  1 tsp
crush whole coriander          1 tbsp
ginger garlic paste                    1 tbsp



method :

  • heat oil add fenugreek seeds onion seeds, ginger garlic paste stir for 2 minutes 
  • then add fried onion , turmeric powder , 1 tsp , green chillies    , 1 tsp fennel seeds ,1 tsp crushed coriander seeds , mint leaf , 3 tbsp butter . crushed red chilly ,curry leaf , and boiled gram lentil (chana daal ).
  • add mint leaf and 1/2 cup of water cover and cook on slow flame for 10 minutes . 
  • remove in a platter and garnish it with fried onion .
  • serve with naan , tortilla or with plain rice . 

note : while boiling chana daal (gram lentil) add salt and 1 tsp of turmeric then simply pressure cook it .
