mutton ishtoo(ishtu)


cooking time : 20 minutes
preparation time : 15 minutes

ingredients :
mutton /beef               1 kg 
ginger garlic paste         1 tbsp
salt to taste 
chilly flaks                       2 tbsp
chopped tomatoes                4
yogurt                            1 cup
pepper corns                 10-15
crushed pepper                1 tsp
green cardamom                      3 
cinnamon stock                     1 
cloves                           2
bay leaf                           2
green chilly paste            1 tsp
oil                                   1 cup
green coriander                  1 cup chopped  
salt to taste 

method :

  • marinate mutton with curd and green chilly paste for 30 minutes 
  • heat up oil in a pan add finely chopped onion add cinnamon stick . cloves , black pepper corns , green cardamom , bay leaf , and stir for a while . 
  • add ginger garlic paste ,and marinated mutton and sauté for 5 minutes . 
  • add chopped tomatoes , chilly flakes. and 1 cup of water and cover and cook till mutton get fully done . and oil floats over the top layer . 
  • remove in a platter and garnish it with green coriander leaf .
