kheer (rice pudding)




preparation time :nil
cooking time   :30-40 minutes 















ingredients :



full cream milk                        2 lit-re
sugar                                     1 cup
rice                                        1/2 cup (soak and drained from water just for 10 minutes )
kesar /saffron                         3 to 5 tbsp soaked and water
green cardamom powder        1 tsp
ghee  / butter                           1 tbsp
poppy-seeds                            2 tbsp
nuts                                         1 cup dry roast for 30 sec
rose water                               2 tsp
cherry                                      1 to garnish


method 

  • grind rice into mixture grinder for 20 sec only . do not over grind we dont need powder .remove in a bowl .
  • boil milk in a pan .
  • in a different pan heat up ghee / butter and and add rice and saute till rice change the color and separates  from each other .
  • now add this rice into boiling milk and cook for 20 minutes on slow flame .
  • in a different pan dry roast poppy seeds for 20 sec only .as soon as aroma comes out from it add this to boiling milk .
  • add nuts into milk and saffron water .
  • add sugar .and rose water .
  • remove in a bowl and garnish with rose petal or with cherry and nuts .
