saag murgh (spinach chicken curry )


Preparation time : 5 minutes
Cooking time :  30 minutes 





ingredients :



chicken                              1/2 kg skin removed and washed .
curd                                  1 cup
spinach                             1 cup washed and finely chopped
garam masala powder         1/2 tsp
coriander powder           1 tsp
red chilly powder               1/2  tsp
cumin powder                   1 tsp
tomato                              2 finely chopped
onion                                 2 finely chopped
whole red chilly                  2
black cardamom                1
green cardamom                 2
clove                                   2 to 3
ghee /butter                         1/2 cup ( 4 tbsp )




method :


  • heat up ghee / butter in a pan add , add whole red chilly, clove , brown cardamom , cinnamon stick  , green cardamom , grated ginger , grated garlic and saute for 2 minutes .
  • add chopped onion and saute till it get nice brown color .
  • add red chilly powder , garam masala powder , coriander powder , cumin powder , and half cup water and chicken and saute .
  • add curd , tomato and cook on-other 7 to 8 minutes on high flame ,
  • add spinach mix well and again cover the pan and cook on very slow flame for 15 minutes .
  • add garam masala and saute for 2 minutes , remove in serving plate .ready to serve with makke ki roti/ bread or with rice .
